OK! So, "golf club sets" is too broad. Using Google Related we get offered a couple more suggestions. "affinity golf club sets" looks like a brand name, so lets see how many exact matches there are for that term in Google UK... ZERO! hehe...
Unfortunately, search volume is pitiful, with <300 searches a month. Might be worth spinning an article and blog post using the retailers text just cos there is no competition but im thinking dont waste too much time on it cos its not gonna buy me that Whistler Ski Lodge i want...
NEXT!
"dunlop golf club sets" fares better, only 3 competing sites and much higher search volume at 1600 and 800 for the singular "dunlop golf club set". There are 2 intitle:'s, so thats looking great! HOWVER, this is UK only search. If i chose to search the whole web, there's 101 competitor sites and STRANGLEY 1000 intitle:'s... can someone comment on this pls to alleviate my aching nogin!?
"graphite golf club sets" has 1 UK competitor page, 1000-1600 searches per month and no intitle: competition! Great! But it gets me thinking... how to monetise? There are Adwords ads down the side of the results so its profitable niche, i could just run adsense and get something but ive never been that in to Adsense, always preferred affiliate programs! I should find a good golf affiliate offer and perhaps a good golf clickbank product and find golf keywords relevent for them cos there are TOO MANY decent long-tail golf KWs to research! I'm a genious!! lol lol lol
PS I could always just include a price comparison iframe in my page to convert these 'golf club set' type KWs but i imagine the clicks dont sell for much, like adsense, i can incorporate but noit rely on, i think. also there is something that G doesnt like iframes and aff links so id need to be careful to only have them on a money page which im not trying to get ranked. (The idea is to get lots of other sites to rank, and for them to point at a site that hosts ur affiliate offers :D)
RIGHT, LETS FIND SOMETHING TO MONETIZE WITH!
